Gates team took the “Reach Out “campaign to reach the rig customers in Tamil Nadu region in August 2017. Under this campaign, roadshows, Rig Expo and Rig Association meet was covered. Four days roadshow was conducted by Gates team with its authorized distributor India Hydraulics towards educating customers with common failure modes, incorrect operations and proactive steps to select and maintain high performing hose assemblies inErode, Sankagiri, and Salem. The initiative was well appreciated and generated good response from the customers as they had not experienced this kind of interaction before with product right usage and advantages over local available products.

Another initiative towards same was by participating in Rigs Engineering Expo and PRD Rig association meet during month of August 2017 in Tiruchengode. Gates participated in Rig Expo with its partner Vinayaga Spares and PRD Rig Association meet with partner India Hydraulics. During these events, Gates not only got connected with several rig manufacturers, rig owners, compressor suppliers etc but got chance to platform Gates products and solutions for Rigs. These events created a lot of buzz amongst the audience and many understood the correct usage of hoses with correct application. The advantage of using quality, validated products over cheap unqualified productswas explained to these customers.

Gates specially developed RIG HOSE, a product suitable for the Water Well Rig Applications were showcased with various other related product range like Air Drill hose, Super Hose, G1 and G2  G2XH high temperature hoses and couplings like Global spiral  and Mega crimp. Gates Rig Hoses are champions for drilling rigs which are recommended for Pneumatic services in HD drill rig compressors up to 1100 CFM capacity in ground drilling, construction. These have excellent hot air ageing resistance @135° C with abrasion resistance robust cover. 4XH spiral wire hose is generally recommended for extremely high pressure and high impulse application at Rig sites which is tested to 1,000,000 impulse cycles. Another hose for high temperature and high pressure applications is G2XH Wire braid Extreme Heat Hose, where pressure /temperature requirement exceeds SAE100R2AT type S and EN 853 2SN. It can also be used where resistance to either petroleum based /phosphate ester fluid is required.  G1 & G2 Hoses, which is one wire and 2 wire braid hose are used  for medium to high pressure hydraulic &oil lines.

During these initiatives, our onsite service model were also shared which helps to minimize downtime where it matters most – in the field. The emphasis was laid on proactive, rather than reactive, maintenance of rig.
