Atlas Copco adds the new SB 452 to its range of light hydraulic breakers

Atlas Copco launches the SB 452 breaker, for excavators of up to 13 tonnes. The SB 452 extends the line of the new generation of solid body breakers.

The weight-impact ratio of these Solid Body breakers is unmatched – no matter which SB breaker from the 50-500 kg class is used. To achieve the same impact with a heavier conventional breaker would require a larger and thirstier carrier.
Atlas Copco’s SB breakers are recognized for their durability and reliability, and used for road work, trenching, demolition, and landscaping. The new floating bushing makes service and maintenance easier.
Thord Wikström, Product Line Manager says: “The single blow impact energy of the SB 452 has increased by more than 12% and the impact rate by more than 50% compared to the previous model, which results in higher performance and breaking power. And the new body design generates lower vibrations and less noise.

A solid body breaker is machined from a single block of steel. No tie bolts are needed and the solid body provides a unique resistance to bending forces and operator abuse. Another advantage is fewer parts and less maintenance.”
The slim design of the SB 452 makes positioning easy and facilitates working in confined applications. The SB 452 offers the highest performance and breaking power in its class thanks to a new hydraulic system that delivers higher efficiency and improved energy recovery.
