Auger Technologies Introduces Bullet Tooth Puller

Device Designed to Speed Up Removal of Conical Auger Bits

Harrison, Ohio-based manufacturer Auger Technologies has introduced their Bullet Tooth Puller, a device the company says can quickly and safely remove even the most stubborn conical auger bits from augers, cold planers, asphalt grinders and other equipment with conical bits in blind holes.

In a release, the company says the Bullet Tooth Puller, powered either manually or with an impact wrench (not provided), removes conical auger teeth in a fraction of the time normally required, saving money. Operators can efficiently remove auger teeth, even those worn and stuck fast, in minutes. Auger Technologies adds that, once new teeth are installed, operators have removed a valuable asset from the “bone yard” and returned it to productivity. The company says the device is ideal for any auger with standard conical teeth, or bits in blind holes like pavement grinders, cold planers, and more.
Operators simply fit the split-ring Bullet Tooth Puller collet over the conical auger bit, then slide the driver arm over the collet, locking it in place. Driving the extractor screw, in turn, backs out the tooth. Once out, reverse the motion on the extractor screw to remove the tooth from the collet.

The Bullet Tooth Puller can be used with an impact wrench (recommended, but not supplied) or manually with a wrench. Either method eliminates the knuckle-busting methods previously employed — and is much safer and faster than fork wrenches.

See video of the Bullet Tooth Puller in action at augertech.net/tooth-extractor. Auger Technologies has Part #9055, for a .865 bit, in stock for immediate shipment. Extractors for larger bits area also available. The Bullet Tooth Puller can also pair with an Auger Technologies driver for easy re-insertion of auger bits.

Auger Technologies, based in Harrison, Ohio, is known for their line of Alaskaug augers, which are used in various applications around the world. They offer a variety of cutter heads matched to application requirements for optimal production and service life. In addition to a full lineup of augers, they provide Kelly bars, pilot line controllers, parts, and their innovative Bullet Tooth Pullers for .865 and .990 auger bits.
