Volvo adds flexibility with modular Hauler Chassis

volvo

Volvo Construction Equipment has launched a new modular Hauler Chassis concept, which allows its F-Series articulated haulers to be fitted with an array of superstructures to enable them to be used in a wide range of applications.

The Hauler Chassis enables customers to adapt standard haulers into special-purpose vehicles. Customers can order  a standard articulated hauler, supplied without load body  or hoist cylinders, and then choose from a series of added  or deleted options.

The base machine provides the perfect platform for the customer, Volvo dealer or third-party body builder to modify in order to suit the transport solution required.

Popular superstructure options include timber hauler, water tank, hook lift, ejector body or fifth wheel for pulling a wide range  of trailers.

A bolt-on frame extension is also available for the A25F and A30F-based machines to achieve added flexibility. Offered in  two lengths, 1.2 and 1.7m, the extension means longer or larger volumes can be supported.

Volvo also provides technical support, as well as Body Builder Instructions (BBI). The BBI is a web-based tool that provides drawings, specifications and other technical information to help integrate the new superstructure and ensure the finished machine performs safely and fuel efficiently.

The F-Series articulated haulers are available with load capacities from the 28t A25F up to the  44.6t A40F.

The range features ‘dog clutch’ differential locks in all three axles, which help to maximise grip in difficult conditions.

When applied, they ensure all wheels rotate at the same speed, maximising traction in severe operating conditions.
