NEW DITCH WITCH RT80 DESIGNED TO PERFORM BIG IN ANY SITUATION

PERRY, Okla.—The Ditch Witch® organization announces the release of the RT80, a utility-based, fully hydrostatic trencher with a compact footprint and an 83 gross horsepower (62 kW) turbocharged diesel engine.
The combination of compact size, narrow wheelbase and exceptional power gives the RT80 the capability to dig trenches in tight spaces that larger trenchers cannot reach. But Ditch Witch organization product manager Kevin Smith says the RT80 is great for any jobsite, tight or wide open. "Much of the RT80's power is directed to the digging attachment," says Smith, "which makes it an ideal machine for any application."
Wherever the RT80 trenches it does so with outstanding efficiency and unmatched speed. With a top speed of 9.9 mph (15.9 km/h), it is the fastest trencher in its class, which saves time getting to and from jobsites. Plus, the RT80 is unique in that it offers four combinations of torque and speed. "This gives it greater ability to adapt to different ground conditions while trenching," says Smith.
Complementing the RT80's powerful engine is an advanced cooling system that helps maintain optimal engine performance throughout the workday. A 30-gallon (114-liter) fuel tank also helps ensure that the RT80 runs for a long time without stopping.
The RT80 comes standard with cruise control, which helps reduce operator fatigue, and other operator comforts include a seat that swivels 90 degrees to provide better visibility of the work in progress, and an easy-to-read control panel. The RT80 offers optional rear steering that enables a tighter turn radius and improves maneuverability.
The RT80 currently offers traversing trencher, saw, and backhoe attachments. Other attachments expected to be available later this year include a vibratory plow, reel carrier, and combination trencher/vibratory plow.
" 'Performance' was the operative term when we designed it," says Smith of the RT80, which will replace the company's RT75 trencher. "This is a trencher our customers demanded—more power to the attachment, more power in general, a smaller footprint, more comfortable, and more productive."
