Largest playing card structure

The largest playing card structure has just been completed by Bryan Berg (USA) at the Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel in Macau, China , on 10 March 2010. The structure was made of 218,792 cards, measuring 10.39 m (34 ft 1.05 in) long, 2.88 m (9 ft 5.39 in) tall and 3.54 m (11 ft 7.37 in) wide. The structure was a replica of The Venetian® Macao, The Plaza™ Macao and Sands Macao.
With this structure, a new Guinness World Records® record has been set by Bryan Berg. It is the largest playing cards structure ever made smashing the previous record of 162,000 cards.

Largest playing card structure

Bryan Berg took 44 days to complete this giant structure, which is a replica of The Venetian® Macao, The Plaza™ Macao and Sands Macao. According to the Guinness World Records guidelines, Bryan Berg was not allowed to use any adhesives or internal structure to support the card artwork and he could not modify the cards in any way.

The playing cards acted like bricks would have for a real house, so this master card stacker acted like the architect who designed and also built the structure in a remarkably skillful way. Angela Wu, the Guinness World Records Adjudicator attending the construction event, was not very surprised to learn that Bryan Berg had a direct experience in architecture. Bryan also told Guinness World Records that people may think that he stacks every card with a trembling hand; in fact, he enjoys the work and he is so experienced that he could do this continuously in a very confident way.
Bryan enjoys listening to music while doing his art. During the 44 days, Bryan also found time to hold workshops for kids, teaching them how to stack cards. Bryan Berg is the current holder of several records involving playing cards, and this giant structure in Macau has been the most challenging job for him.

After the official certificate presentation ceremony on 10 March 2010, the playing card structure will be displayed at the Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel until 20 March 2010, when Bryan Berg will tear down the largest house of cards ever made.
