RIG EXPO 2017 Turns out to be the Most Promising Platform


The Second Edition of RIG EXPO 2017 took place at Tiruchengode in Tamil Nadu. The Expo was organized by Rigs Engineering and Service Centres Association, Tiruchengode, in association with PRD Rigs India. Supported by District Industries Centre, Namakkal.


The Honorary President, RESCA and PRD Group's Chairman Mr. T.P. Thangaraj presided over the function of the opening ceremony. The Chief Guest, of RIG EXPO 2017 was Honorable Minister of Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Tamil Nadu, Mr. P. Thangamani. The opening of the indoor stalls was done by MLA Tiruchengode Constituency Srimati Pon Saraswati. Similarly, the outdoor stall's opening was done by Dr. Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, ELGI Equipments, Coimbatore, and TMT M. Asia Mariam, District Collector of Namakkal concluded the function on a promising note.

Addressing the gathering, the President of RESCA and Managing Director, PRD Groups Mr. T.T. Paranthaman reiterated that the purpose of organizing the Rig Expos is to exchange information and ideas with regard to the technological developments made in the field so as to enable the manufacturers to improvise the drilling equipments.

Living up to its reputation of being the largest exhibition of its kind in India, RIG EXPO 2017 attracted participation of more than 200 exhibiters from almost all major states. Large number of exhibitors from Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal and other states used the platform not only to exhibit their state-of-the art drilling equipments but also to share information and ideas with regard to technology advancements and expansions in their businesses. Exhibitors were exuberant with response as it attracted more than ten thousand high esteemed visitors of who were either decision makers or genuine buyers. This edition exceeded the expectations of all with an overall record in terms of area, the number of exhibitors, visitor turnout, and the business generated.

This growth and optimism was evident at RIG EXPO 2017, which was held in the grounds of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Tiruchengode, witnessed the success and optimistic growth as the RIG EXPO 2017 was held its ground.

Reflecting the buoyant mood of the industry, numbers of new products were launched and displayed at the exhibition by various equipment manufacturers. About Rig industry in Tiruchengode
Tiruchengode, a heritage town located in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu, is popularly known for lord Arthanareeshwara temple located on the hill top with main deity Lord Shiva sharing his better half with Lord Parvati. Tiruchengodue is not only known for its rich heritage but today it has become the major manufacturing hub for the water-well drilling rigs and the truck body building industries. This town has a population of more than 10000 drilling rigs which are being operated all over India, the first drilling rig was manufactured in Tiruchengode in 1984 by PRD Rigs and today has the pride of consistently supplying the drilling rigs throughout the world. To date, there are more than ten thousand drilling rigs having been installed all over India.

Rigs Engineering and Service Centers Association was formed in the year 2003 to cater to the needs of around 250 workshops engaged in the manufacturing and service of drilling rigs. RESCA conducts various exhibitions and social events and contributes towards the community service as and when needed. RESCA has now decided to go all out nationwide in showcasing the talent and need of members and industry around.
